Ed had been recommended to us and exceeded our expectations. Ed wandered around the tables engaging with people, they were blown away from the magic. We were also looking for someone to compare the evening and although Ed hasn’t done much of this he happily took on the challenge, the evening flowed as it should. He displayed all the tenets you associate with a public speaker and I really enjoyed his presentation about embracing chaos and responding to what happens when things don’t go to plan. He did a fantastic job connecting with guests of all ages, keeping everyone entertained with his incredible tricks and close-up magic. Moving from table to table, he had everyone in awe, from the kids to the grandparents. His charm, humor, and impressive skills made it a truly memorable experience. This was a mid week, mid afternoon booking in a community hall. Not what you'd consider to be 'show biz'. He gave us a performance that amazed us all. His tricks covered mind reading, disappearing items, card guessing, predictions  and more. He engaged with many members of our audience,  which thrilled everyone. There are hundreds of weddings that take place across the West Midlands every day. Some will be days full of celebration and joy. Others, I'm sorry to say, will drag on! How do you make sure yours is in that first group? It's easy. Hiring entertainment for during the day is the way to go. And I don't just mean a band or a DJ for the evening.

Instead I mean during those lull periods where people are waiting around for the next thing. They are thinking, what's next? And you're not there to do any entertaining as you're having your photograph taken, or taking a moment for yourself in an otherwise hectic day. You don't have to hire a magician for your wedding. It could be some other form of entertainment.

A magician is a great choice though, as it's lively, and interactive. Well, that's how I perform magic. It's fast, upbeat and incredibly fun to be a part of.

STAGE MAGIC

There are very few magicians in the West Midlands with a professional stage magic show. I'm one of them. In fact, I specialise in this type of incredible magic performance. For the largest events or where you want to entertain a lot of people in a short amount of time, stage magic is the way to go.

I can also act as the events host and weave in magic throughout the evening, as well as making all of the announcements and introductions.

And for the very largest events, I can even help to source other close up magicians, or a team of stage performers. Whatever is required to make your event special, I can help.

An emotional moment of magic

I never embarrass anyone when performing. That's going to extend to this short story. Although, perhaps it's not the most embarrassing tale anyway.

Out of all of the shows I've performed there are a few moments that really stick in my mind. One of those moments occurred during a wedding I was performing at in Coventry. I was performing a special wedding magic trick for the bride and groom. At the conclusion, the groom became quite emotional and started to cry. That's a strong reaction to a magic performance, but it shows I think that magic does connect us to those around us. In this case his new wife.

I also know that moment is one that he and his wife will look back on and share with others for many years to come. That's what I do as a magician for weddings. I can't guarantee you'll cry, but you will have stories to share.

Whose birthday party was this?

This one stands out just for the pure extravagance. When I arrived at this private party in Wolverhampton, I was greeted by fire breathing stilt walkers. Inside there were more entertainers. In the basement there was a DJ spinning some tunes and in the private bar there was a bar flair artist? I want to say a bar flarist, but I may have just invented that word.

This is one of those events where a magician is perhaps a nice luxury. There was so much going on that I wasn't the main event. That was cool with me though. Throughout the entire house there were pockets of people having a great time and my job was to mix with those people and share some incredible magic and mind reading. That's what I did and I was happy to add to this event.

In case, you're wondering I was booked through an agent. And I never did learn who the mystery party thrower was.
